老茫崖帐篷城遗址

驾车前往冷湖的途中，可以在一个休息区看到茫崖最初诞生的地方。地图上标注为“老茫崖”，有遗址但不易发现。1956年，这里曾有数千顶帐篷，是开发柴达木盆地的开始，最多容纳3万人。1964年，单位搬迁到西边现石棉矿的位置。由于帐篷难留痕迹，如今仅剩一些建筑物残留，难以想象当年的繁华景象。

驾车前往冷湖的路上，在一个休息区停车休整。很少有人知道，这里就是茫崖最开始的地方。

如今地图上只在这里标注了一个地名“老茫崖”，以及路边不仔细看就发现不了的遗址。

大概在1956年，这里搭起了数千顶帐篷，成为开发柴达木盆地的序幕。最多时有3万人居住。1964年，这里的单位搬迁到西边，也就是现在石棉矿的位置。

由于帐篷很难留下痕迹，如今在这里也只能依稀看到一些建筑物残留，无法想象当年上万人的帐篷城的情景。
